Our History

Bumble Bee Nursery was founded by Sally Alshakarchi in 2008. Sally felt that there was a need for an excellent early years provision in the residential area of Sharjah where there was an emphasis on qualified staff and clean and comfortable conditions for the children. She wanted to create an environment that would support working parents, who were looking for good quality care for their child in a home away from home environment. Sally Alshakarchi is the proud director and owner of both Bumble Bee Nursery and Honey Bee Nursery. She was born in Iraq and arrived in the UAE in 2005. The UAE has been her home for fourteen years. Sally is by profession a computer engineer; however, after having her own children she realized her inner desire to understand and learn more about the development of children in the early years. At first, her primary goal was to create an environment where she would see children coming into nursery happily and not wanting to go home at pick up time. Nevertheless, Sally always felt that was not enough. After much research, she gathered information on how children learn in an early year’s environment and took her passion further by enrolling on a course, which qualified her to work with and understand children’s development as a whole. In 2016, Sally completed her CACHE level 3 (this is a UK based qualification in early years). Sally was proud of her achievement and wanted to continue her professional development in management in early years. Sally have always believed that children deserve the best quality of care, so recruiting qualified & knowledgeable staff is the cornerstone of the recruitment process in both nurseries. Currently we have a strong team of practitioners that carry out her vision that all children deserve the best. Early years is the foundation of every child’s future, which is why ensuring that
both of the nurseries provide enriched learning opportunities for every child is a crucial part of the Bumble Bee and Honey Bee ethos. Sally is a strong proponent of inclusive education and that every child is ‘Unique’ in their own way and have the right to learn and play together. Another key to our success is that we take parents as partners as an extension of the Bumble Bee and Honey Bee family.
