Bumble Bee Nursery cares for children aged 1.5 to 4 years in Al Ramla, Sharjah. We have been in the same building since 2008, and many of our teachers have been with us for years – which matters more than it sounds. A child settles faster with a familiar face.
We follow the British Early Years Foundation Stage framework, and we follow it properly rather than blending it with other approaches. In practice, that means your child spends the day playing while we observe, record and gently steer.
Two things shape every day here:
Play your child leads. They choose what to explore. A teacher stays close, asks the right question at the right moment, and steps back again.
Learning we guide. Focused sessions in early language, numbers and motor skills – still through play, but with a clear purpose behind each activity.
Alongside that, the week includes gymnastics and music, outdoor play, and a written note at pickup telling you how the day actually went.
Learning happens in the ordinary moments
Children do not learn only during the activities on the timetable. A two-year-old learns the words for wet, cold and nearly finished while washing their hands. A three-year-old learns to take turns because someone else wanted the red bucket first.
That is where most of the day’s learning actually sits, and it is the part that is easy to waste. So our teachers are trained to use it — to narrate, to ask, to wait for an answer rather than fill the silence.
Arrival. A cuddle if one is needed, then a choice of where to start. Nobody is hurried into the room.
Snack and mealtimes. Pouring, sharing, naming what is on the plate. Some of the best language work of the day happens here.
Outdoor play. Climbing, running, negotiating whose turn it is. Physical confidence comes before the ability to sit still.
Tidying up. Sorting by shape and colour, finishing what you started, and the small satisfaction of a job done.
Pickup. A written note telling you what your child actually did, not a generic form.
This is what the EYFS framework looks like in practice rather than on paper — and it is why we follow it properly instead of blending it with other approaches.
