Nursery FAQs: questions Sharjah parents ask

Fourteen questions we get most often, answered specifically. If yours is not here, call 06 522 8461 or send a WhatsApp — someone in the office will answer properly.

Children from 45 days to 4 years, in four class groups: Infant Class (45 days to 1 year), Toddler Class (1 to 2 years), Toddler Class 2 (2 to 3 years) and Preschooler Class (3 to 4 years). See the class groups.

The British Early Years Foundation Stage, and only that. Plenty of nurseries in Sharjah advertise EYFS alongside Montessori and a STEM programme. One framework, with staff trained in it and assessment that genuinely follows it, is a different proposition from three at the surface.

Al Ramla, Sharjah — near the Sharjah Red Crescent Society. Al Ramla is close enough to central Sharjah that most of the city is a short drive, but off the main arteries, so the morning run is not a battle. Directions and map.

Classes run Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and Friday, 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Friday is a short day for every child. The office keeps different hours, including Saturday mornings — see all hours.

Yes. Full-day care runs to 5:30 PM, Monday to Thursday, from a 7:00 AM arrival. The teachers your child knows in the morning are the ones there in the afternoon, which for a child in care all day matters more than the closing time.

Fees depend on the age group and the number of days, so we quote them when you enquire rather than publishing one figure that fits nobody. What matters more when you compare two nurseries is what sits outside the fee — transport, uniform and registration are usually charged separately. What nursery fees in Sharjah actually cover.

Yes. We provide pick-up and drop-off across nearby areas, including Muweilah, Al Rahmaniya, Al Suyoh and the communities in and around Al Ramla, Sharjah. Tell us your area and we will confirm the route and the cost before you commit to anything.

Yes — by the Sharjah Private Education Authority. We have operated from the same building since 2008. In 2026 the nursery received the Edarabia Parents’ Choice Award for the Sharjah region.

Yes. CCTV covers every classroom and every area of the nursery. Alongside that: secure entry, an authorised collection list, childproofed rooms, food safety procedures and ongoing staff training in health and safety. More on safety.

A written note at pickup, every day — not a summary at the end of term. Beyond that: updates through the parent app, written progress reports, parent–teacher meetings and newsletters.

Every child has a key person from the first visit — one teacher who learns their name, their routines and how they like to be comforted. Settling starts with shorter sessions and lengthens when the child is ready, not when the calendar says so.

Passport, Emirates ID and UAE residence visa copies for the father, mother and child; six passport photographs of the child; the vaccination record; the birth certificate; and the admission form set, which the office gives you. The full admissions page.

Please do, and come at a time when something is actually happening — mid-morning when the rooms are busy, or at pickup to see how the day ends. A nursery is easy to photograph well and hard to fake in person.

The 3–4 year is the year before school, and it maps onto FS1 in the British curriculum schools most of our families go on to in Sharjah and Dubai. Children leave able to sit in a group, follow two-step instructions, hold a pencil properly and manage their own shoes and bag.

Yes. Our Infant Class takes babies from 45 days to 1 year: gentle care that follows each baby’s own routine, sensory experiences and early interaction. More about infant care or see all four class groups.

Yes. Admissions are open throughout the year, subject to availability. Call, WhatsApp or book a visit to check for a place in your child’s class group.

The UAE has moved the age cut-off date for starting KG and school to 31 December, which changes the start year for children born late in the year. Read our guide to the new cut-off.

Yes. In 2026 Bumble Bee Nursery received the Edarabia Parents’ Choice Award for the Sharjah region, voted for by families. More about the award.
