Preschool in Sharjah for ages 3 to 4
Our Preschooler Class is the year before school: early literacy and numeracy, problem-solving and the independence a reception or FS1 class will expect.
Getting ready for school
The 3–4 year maps onto FS1 in the British curriculum schools most of our families go on to in Sharjah and Dubai.
Children leave able to sit in a group, follow two-step instructions, hold a pencil properly and manage their own shoes and bag.

What preschoolers learn
Alongside the prime areas, the four specific areas of the EYFS take a bigger part of the day.
Literacy
Stories, rhyme and the sounds inside words, with mark-making that becomes early writing.
Mathematics
Counting, sorting, pattern, shape and space — mostly by handling real things rather than worksheets.
Understanding the world
Families, places, nature and how things work, in a room where many cultures sit side by side.
Expressive arts and design
Paint, music, construction and role play, where children try out their own ideas.
Starting school: the UAE age cut-off
The UAE has moved the age cut-off date for starting KG and school to 31 December. If your child is born late in the year, it can change when they start. Read our guide to the new cut-off.
Assessment without tests
There are no tests. Teachers observe what your child does and compare it with what they were doing a month ago. You see it in the daily note, the parent app and written progress reports.
