Curriculum

We cater to children from 1.5 years to 4 years old.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage/British curriculum. The purpose of our curriculum is to support children in all aspects of their emotional, social, cognitive and physical development. It should enable them to become increasingly independent, responsible and eager to progress in their learning. Each area of learning and development is implemented through planned, purposeful play and through a mix of adult-led and child-initiated activity.

As a British curriculum (EYFS) nursery we know that every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. Children develop quickly in the early years and a child’s experiences between birth and age five have a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right and is something that we take very seriously at Bumble Bee Nursery Sharjah. Good parenting and high-quality early learning together provide the foundation children need to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up.

By following the EYFS we seek to provide

  • Quality and consistency in our nursery so that every child makes good progress, and every child gets exposure to new activities.
  • A secure foundation through learning and development opportunities which are planned around the needs and interests of each individual child and are assessed and reviewed regularly
  • Partnership working between teachers and with parents and/or carers
  • Equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice, ensuring that every child is included and supported

We are committed to providing a stimulating, safe, secure and welcoming environment inside and outdoors. Our teachers support children by providing an appropriate combination of child-initiated and adult-led activities and balancing open-ended play and exploration and direct teaching in adult-led activities.

The EYFS and the Early Learning Goals (ELGs), however, provide enough flexibility for our teachers to follow children’s interests, respond to their ideas for developing play activities, and provide structured activities (which can also be playful) to teach specific knowledge and skills.

Extracurricular Activities

Gymnastics

At Bumble Bee, we believe in supporting holistic development, which is why gymnastics is an excellent extracurricular activity for our little learners. Designed specifically for this age group, gymnastics offers numerous physical, social, and cognitive benefits that support their early growth and development.

  • It helps in physical development and improves strength, balance, and flexibility through simple activities like jumping and rolling.
  • It contributes to boosting self-esteem by learning new skills and overcoming challenges, which brings a sense of accomplishment and confidence
  • It supports motor skills enhancement and cognitive growth and also encourages children to develop discipline, healthy lifestyle habits, and teamwork.

Music

At Bumble Bee Nursery, we embrace the magic of music as a stimulating extracurricular activity that promotes each child’s overall growth. Music improves emotional expression, fosters creativity, and develops critical abilities like rhythm, focus, and coordination. Music is also an engagement tool for kids with special needs, fostering socialization, emotional control, and motor abilities in an enjoyable, welcoming setting. Furthermore, music is essential for language development because it helps kids acquire new words, pronounce words correctly, and enhance their communication and listening skills through songs, rhymes, and melodies. By including music in our curriculum, we foster happy learning opportunities that support each child’s cognitive development, inclusiveness, and self-esteem.
